An Irony of the Age of Electronic Transactions:

One's posession of a large wad of cash seems to me to be indicative of his or her low socioeconomic standing.

(Disclaimer: I imagine this assumption to be somewhat contextual.)

  2. Dave Ramsey would say that you should use cash to buy things because then you will spend less. Apparently there is a bigger psychological impact on you handing over a large wad of cash than swiping a card... but we still swipe the card.

  3. @anna - i do believe there is some truth to that, and I have heard it before. so maybe true axiom is that people with a large wad of cash are just smarter than the rest of us.

  4. or perhaps the truth is that Dave Ramsey is so irritating because he tells rich whiny people who are in debt to act more like working class people who have to be cheap because it's not our fault.
